WHAT IS REAL ESTATE SYNDICATION?
A real estate syndication is when a group of investors pools together their capital to jointly purchase a large real estate property. This allows individual investors to purchase larger assets than they would be able to purchase on their own.
WHAT IS AN ACCREDITED INVESTOR?
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) defines an accredited investor as someone who meets one of following three requirements:
(a) Income: Has an annual income of at least $200,000, or $300,000 if combined with a spouse’s income. In addition, this level of income should be sustained from year to year.
(b) Professional: Is a “knowledgeable employee” of certain investment funds or holds a valid Series 7, 65 or 82 license.
(c) Net Worth: Has a net worth of $1 million or more, either individually or together with a spouse, but excluding the value of a primary residence.
WHAT TYPES OF PROPERTIES WOULD PORT UNITY INVEST IN?
At Port Unity, we target multi-family homes, apartment communities, pre-packaged portfolios of single-family homes and/or townhouses, and mobile home communities.
WHAT IS THE MINIMUM INVESTMENT AMOUNT?
Minimum investments vary depending on the specific investment, but typically range from $50,000 to $100,000.
HOW LONG IS THE INVESTMENT PERIOD?
Port Unity’s investments are intended to be long-term investments, held for at least five years and can go for up to ten years.
